■ The Elementals

(Click cover below for more details on this series.)

“The Elementals” is Jessica Crichton’s epic fantasy series for middle grade readers, published under her pseudonym of Morgan Marshall. Directly inspired by the author’s own five children, “The Elementals” is based on Western mythology and the elements. Book 1 is currently available for purchase, and book 2 is slated for publication in the spring of 2013.

Titles are: Book 1 ~ Song of Spirit, (now available to read online!) Book 2 ~ Weave of Water, Book 3 ~ Pyre of Fire, Book 4 ~ Essence of Earth, and Book 5 ~ Stair of Air.

Click the cover above to learn more about this series and to order a copy of Book 1, or contact the author here or at jessiswrittenword@yahoo.com. She is also updating this site with information on “The Elementals” as it progresses.

■ Seasons and Solstices

“Seasons and Solstices” is a Gothic fantasy series of four books based on the seasons. Jessica Crichton has been working on it for many years, and it is not yet ready for publication, either trade or independent. Like all of her projects, it is geared toward middle readers and is intended to follow dark fantasy themes perfected by such artists as Tim Burton, Neil Gaiman and Edward Gorey.

Mixing traditional fantasy with ghost lore, Celtic pagan history, and whimsical horror, “Seasons and Solstices” could be called a cross between Susan Cooper’s “Dark is Rising” series, Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride, and classic children’s books such as The Secret Garden by Frances Hogsen Burnett and Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. Titles in the series are: Book 1 ~ Winter, Book 2 ~ Spring, Book 3 ~ Summer, and Book 4 ~ Autumn.  If you are interested in learning more about this series, please contact the author here or at morganmarshallliterary@yahoo.com. She will also update this site with information as she has it.
