Snot yanked his sledgemammer out of its straps and over his shoulder. I jumped back as it flew forward in his hands, almost slamming into my head.

He stopped it just before it hit the ground and laughed, making a pig-like noise that reminded me of the last time I had a cold.

“That’d be funny if it hitcha, kid. Wouldn’t it be funny if it hit him, Fist?”


Like all Nil Kids, Snot earned his name — by being the snottiest kid around. Snot is more often an annoyance to Fist than a help, but at least he’s loyal. He wears a gas mask most of the time, though nobody has the courage to ask him why…
